Description
We are currently looking to add a Occupational Therapist (OT) to our team who will be part of our CBR center in Ramanagara.
This role focuses on decentralized care, so the therapist will spend time in both a clinical setup and also provide services at the community level (homes, local schools, and primary health centers (PHCs)). The primary goal is to empower families & the local community to sustain the rehabilitation process.
Responsibilities
- Assessment: Conduct functional assessments of movement, strength,
and balance in thechild's/adult's natural environment.
- Intervention: Design home-based exercise programs. Provide gait training and posture correction.
- Assistive Technology: Identify the need for calipers, crutches, or wheelchairs; facilitate procurementthrough government schemes (like ADIP) or local NGOs.
- Community Role: Train parents and local health workers (ASHAs) in basic positioning and stretchingtechniques to prevent contractures.
Ideal Candidate
- Language: Proficiency in Kannada is essential for effective communication with the local community.
- Registration: Must have valid registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or the respectiveeducational background.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel to various "Hoblis" (villages) and conduct field visits.
Good-to-have Skills
Having prior experience of working with the grassroot community
Having prior experience of working for an NGO
