Job Description – Crusher Operator (RHMS – DRI)

Department: RHMS – DRI

Qualification: ITI / Diploma preferred
Experience: 2–5 years in DRI/Steel Plant or similar industry

Job Purpose

Operate and monitor crushers and associated RHMS equipment to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient material crushing and handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate crushers, feeders, screens, conveyors, and associated equipment as per SOPs.
- Monitor material flow, crusher loading, vibration, temperature, and equipment condition.
- Ensure proper material sizing and uninterrupted feed to downstream processes.
- Identify and report abnormalities, blockages, spillage, and equipment defects.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintain shift logbooks/checklists.
- Coordinate with Control Room,



Maintenance, and Shift In-Charge during operations and breakdowns.
- Follow proper start-up, shutdown, emergency, and LOTO procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure strict compliance with plant safety and PPE requirements.

Key Skills

- Knowledge of crusher and conveyor operation.
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Ability to identify equipment abnormalities.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Solid safety awareness and willingness to work in rotational shifts
