The Software Engineer Database Automation & AI is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions and AI-driven capabilities that improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of enterprise database platforms. This role combines software engineering expertise with database technologies and up-to-date AI capabilities to automate operational processes, enhance developer productivity, and accelerate cloud transformation.

What You'll Do:

- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions supporting enterprise database platforms.
- Build software solutions to automate database provisioning, patching, configuration management, upgrades, backups, validation, and operational workflows.
- Develop AI-enabled automation using Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, intelligent agents, and copilots.
- Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and self-service automation services.
- Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Integrate automation with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, ARM Templates, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Develop integrations with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform services.
- Collaborate with Database Engineers to automate High Availability, Disaster Recovery, monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Implement AI-powered operational capabilities including anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, automated incident response, predictive analytics, and root cause analysis.




- Integrate with observability platforms including Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, scalable code and participate in code reviews, testing, and production support.

What You'll Bring:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of software engineering, automation engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps experience.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Shell scripting.
- Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Experience building database or infrastructure automation.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience using Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Anthropic Claude.
- Experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Experience developing enterprise database automation frameworks.
- Experience with ServiceNow integration and ITSM automation.
- Experience with vector databases and MLOps.
- Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, or OpenTelemetry.
