A studio in Karnal is hiring its first in-house designer. You will learn the studio's detail standard directly from the Founder, on live projects.

About the Role

n

Our client is an architecture and design studio in Karnal working across residential, commercial, retail, and township landscape projects. The practice is built on precision: drawings resolved to 3mm across joinery, stone, wood, flooring, and facade, with site executing strictly from what is drawn.

This is a designer's seat, not a draftsman's. Your first month will be drafting only, because the detail standard has to become a habit before anything else. After that, the studio expects you to think about the work, not just draw it.

What You'll Do

- Produce working drawings across joinery, stone, wood, flooring, elevations, facades, concreting, and shuttering.

- Learn and extend the studio's library of typical details: doorframe, toilet, kitchen
n
- Visit sites regularly and work site inputs back into the drawings
n
- Coordinate with the studio's site engineers and external consultants for structure, 3D, interior, and furniture
n
- Take site coordination for one or two sites over time, with minimal moderation
n
- Question drawings and details rather than assume, and ask when something is unclear
n

Must Have

n

- Fresher to 1 year in architecture or interior design
n
- B.Arch or equivalent design qualification
n
- Clean, accurate drafting fundamentals
n
- A portfolio where the ideas read clearly, with a considered balance of text and graphic
n
- Readiness for regular site visits
n
- Based in Karnal or genuinely committed to relocating and staying. Accommodation is on your own account
n
- If you have more than a year of experience, it should come from a practice with strict drawing discipline
n

- Internship exposure to site execution and working-drawing production

- Interest in vernacular and sustainable material choices

Not a Fit If

- You have only worked where indicative drawings are acceptable and precision was never enforced
n
- You can reproduce drawings but hold no point of view on the design
n
- You are uncomfortable at site, or treat site inputs as someone else's problem
n
- You are unwilling to have your work questioned or corrected
n
- You are moving from a distant state with no real reason to stay
n
- Compensation is the main reason for the move
n

Compensation

n

₹30,000 – ₹38,000 per month (based on relevant experience).

n

Work Arrangement

n

Work from office in Karnal, five days a week plus alternate Saturdays

n

Work Time

n

9:30 AM to 6:30 PM
