Role Purpose

The Head – HR Excellence will be responsible for building and driving a best-in-class HR ecosystem across Metro Brands'.

The role will focus on designing HR strategy, transforming people processes, driving operational excellence, implementing digital HR initiatives, strengthening governance, and creating scalable people practices that support business growth.

As a strategic HR leader, the incumbent will partner closely with the CHRO, CEO, and Business Leadership Team to develop an agile, high-performing, and future-ready organization while ensuring a superior employee experience across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Transformation

- Develop and execute the HR Excellence roadmap aligned with Metro Brands' business strategy.
- Lead organization-wide HR transformation initiatives across Corporate and Retail functions.
- Design scalable HR frameworks that improve productivity, governance, and employee experience.
- Partner with leadership to drive organization effectiveness and workforce planning.
- Benchmark HR practices against leading retail organizations and global best practices.

2. HR Process Excellence & Governance

- Standardize and optimize all HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Develop and implement HR SOPs, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Improve operational efficiency through Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
- Drive HR compliance, audit readiness, and risk management.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies across all business units.

3. HR Analytics & Data-Driven Decision Making

- Establish HR dashboards and executive scorecards for leadership.
- Monitor key HR metrics including:
- Attrition
- Productivity
- Hiring TAT
- Cost per Hire
- Employee Engagement
- Diversity
- Internal Mobility
- Succession Readiness
- Learning Effectiveness
- Use predictive analytics to support strategic workforce decisions.
- Present monthly and quarterly HR business insights to the CHRO and CEO.





4. Digital HR & Automation

- Lead HR technology initiatives including HRMS optimization and digital transformation.
- Drive automation of HR workflows and employee self-service capabilities.
- Evaluate and implement AI-enabled HR solutions.
- Enhance HR data quality, reporting, and governance.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams on digital HR projects.

5. Organization Design & Workforce Effectiveness

- Lead organizational design and restructuring initiatives.
- Review spans, layers, productivity, and workforce utilization.
- Develop manpower planning frameworks aligned with business expansion.
- Support business restructuring and change management initiatives.

6. Performance & Talent Excellence

- Design and continuously improve the Performance Management System (PMS).
- Drive goal setting, performance calibration, and talent review processes.
- Strengthen succession planning and leadership development frameworks.
- Enhance career progression and internal mobility programs.

7. Employee Experience & Engagement

- Build employee experience strategies across Corporate and Retail.
- Improve employee journey through process simplification and digitalization.
- Lead employee listening initiatives including engagement surveys and action planning.
- Drive employer branding initiatives in partnership with Talent Acquisition and Marketing.

8. HR Projects & Change Management

- Lead strategic HR projects from conceptualization to implementation.
- Manage enterprise-wide change management initiatives.
- Develop communication and adoption strategies for HR transformation programs.
- Ensure successful implementation through stakeholder engagement and governance.

9. Stakeholder Management

- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CHRO, and Business Heads.
- Collaborate with Retail Operations, Finance, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Corporate Functions.
- Influence senior leadership through data-backed recommendations.
- Build solid partnerships with regional HR teams to ensure seamless execution.
