Job Description
Maximizing the effectiveness of the Engineering and Technology Department towards achieving organizational objectives by improving machine uptime, reliability, and speed through implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
Skills Required
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Plan, schedule, execute, and monitor preventive maintenance programs
Ensure healthy condition of all equipment, machinery, utilities, and assets
Breakdown analysis and downtime component tracking
Develop correction time reduction strategies
Predictive testing, inspection, and condition-based maintenance
Regular supervision of plant machinery and feedback collection from operators/production in-charges
Post-maintenance testing and proactive maintenance
Machine lifecycle understanding, trending, FMEA
Collaboration with innovation teams for design-out maintenance
- Effective Resource, Manpower & Facility Management
Shift and workload management of engineers and technicians
Inventory and cost control
Checklist implementation and quality control initiatives
Identify and escalate training needs of self and team
- Spares & Consumables Management
Identification and forecasting of spare parts
Inventory analysis and inspection
Indent tracking and spares approval
Replacement and reconditioning of worn-out spares
Vendor liaison and vendor development
AMC follow-up and coordination with accounts, production, and procurement/logistics
Escalation of critical challenges
- Maintenance Record Management
Track, analyze, and improve maintenance KPIs
Daily/weekly reporting to management
Maintain records of PM status, Kaizens, improvements, and issues faced
- TQM & Safety
5S implementation
Maintenance safety management
Handling OEM-related safety and quality queries
1. Skills Required
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
- Knowledge of TPM, FMEA, and condition-based maintenance
- Vendor management and spare parts optimization
- Ability to work under production pressure and align maintenance schedules
Technical/Functional Proficiency Required
- Acute understanding of production processes and equipment lifecycle management
- Ability to map failure modes and analyze recurring failure patterns
- Capability to recondition/indigenize problematic spares and parts
- Strong documentation, reporting, and KPI tracking skills
- Ability to guide technicians and enhance team capability
Educational Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech - Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering
Experience Level (If applicable)
- Approximately 2 to 5 years
- Preferably from a manufacturing setting
