Job Description:

The Head of Construction will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, governance, and oversight for all construction and development projects undertaken across the Espire Group, irrespective of the business vertical, project type, location, or stage of development.

The incumbent will have overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and delivery of the Group's construction portfolio, ensuring that all projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, design specifications, statutory requirements, and business objectives. The role will provide leadership across the complete project lifecycle, including feasibility, planning, design development, approvals, procurement, construction, project monitoring, testing and commissioning, operational readiness, and final handover. The Head of Construction will establish and drive standardised project management systems, processes, governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and construction best practices across all Group projects. The incumbent will lead and oversee Project Heads, Project Managers, consultants, architects, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination and consistent execution across the Group's diverse construction portfolio. The role will serve as the primary construction leadership interface between the Group's senior leadership, business verticals, project teams, consultants, contractors, brand representatives, and statutory authorities. The Head of Construction will be responsible for ensuring effective project governance, cost control, contract administration, procurement oversight, resource optimisation, quality assurance, risk mitigation, health and safety compliance, and timely resolution of project-related challenges. The incumbent will review project performance across the Group, identify risks and deviations, implement corrective actions, and ensure that projects remain aligned with approved business plans and strategic objectives.



The role will also be responsible for building and strengthening the Group's construction capabilities by developing high performing project teams, establishing accountability frameworks, improving project delivery standards, and driving continuous improvement across all construction functions. The position is transferable in nature and may require deployment, relocation, or travel across project locations as necessitated by business requirements and project demands, with such transfers being undertaken in consultation with and upon mutual agreement between the employee and the organisation.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.

• Master's Degree / MBA in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline will be preferred.

Experience

• 25+ years of experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, real estate, hospitality, mixed-use, luxury hotel, or multi-project development environments.

• Significant experience in a senior leadership position overseeing multiple projects or a large construction portfolio.

• Proven experience managing construction projects across multiple locations, business verticals, or project types.

• Experience in luxury hospitality, real estate, mixed-use developments, large-scale infrastructure, or other state-of the-art projects will be preferred.

• Experience in managing Project Heads, Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and large multi-disciplinary teams.

• Experience working with international hotel brands, luxury developments, or complex multi-stakeholder projects will be an advantage.
