Job Description – Control Panel Wiring & AutoCAD Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Control Panel Wiring Engineer with hands-on experience in new control panel design, electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and AutoCAD electrical drawing preparation. The candidate should be capable of developing control panel wiring drawings, selecting electrical components, supervising panel wiring, and troubleshooting wiring-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop recent electrical control panels for industrial automation and water/wastewater treatment applications.
- Prepare control panel wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, terminal plans, cable schedules, and interconnection drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare and modify AutoCAD electrical/wiring drawings based on project requirements.
- Understand and work with PLC, HMI, VFD, MCC, control relays, contactors, MCBs/MCCBs, SMPS, timers, terminals, and other control components.
- Develop control circuit and power circuit wiring for control panels.
- Prepare panel GA drawings, component layouts, BOMs, and wiring details.
- Troubleshoot and rectify control panel wiring, electrical, and interconnection problems.
- Check panel wiring against approved drawings and ensure proper termination and labeling.
- Coordinate with PLC/SCADA, instrumentation, electrical, and project engineering teams for panel integration.
- Support FAT, commissioning, testing,



and site troubleshooting activities.
- Review electrical drawings and identify wiring errors, missing connections, and design issues.
- Update as-built drawings after panel modifications or site changes.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC/IS standards and project specifications.

Required Skills
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency, particularly in electrical/control panel wiring drawings.
- Good knowledge of control panel design and wiring practices.
- Hands-on experience in panel wiring troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of PLC control panels and automation systems.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, control circuits, power circuits, and terminal wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and control schematics.
- Knowledge of VFD, PLC, HMI, relays, contactors, sensors, and field instruments.
- Good knowledge of cable selection, ferruling, termination, earthing, and panel wiring.
- Ability to prepare BOM and electrical component specifications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in control panel manufacturing, electrical design, automation, or industrial control systems.
- Experience in STP/ETP/WTP, industrial automation, or EPC projects will be an added advantage.
