Hiring: National Credit Head Education Loan Vertical

A leading financial services firm is looking for a National Credit Head

Education Loan Vertical to build and lead the credit function for its rapidly growing Education Loan business.

This is a high-impact leadership prospect for an Education Loan credit specialist who can build the function from the ground up, strengthen credit processes, drive automation, and establish a robust and scalable credit framework.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT PLEASE NOTE

Candidates MUST have a minimum of 7 YEARS of dedicated, hands-on experience specifically in EDUCATION LOANS.

Experience should be in Education Finance / Education Loans with a:

- Dedicated Education Finance Company
- NBFC
- Bank
- Fintech

Candidates without 7+ years of dedicated Education Loan experience will NOT be considered.

The total professional experience should be between 7 and 14 years.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and establish the Education Loan Credit function from scratch.
- Develop and refine credit policies, underwriting frameworks, processes and risk parameters specifically for Education Loans.
- Drive process transformation and automation across the credit lifecycle.
- Build scalable and technology-enabled credit underwriting processes.
- Establish robust credit assessment methodologies for students, co-borrowers, parents/guardians and other relevant borrower profiles.
- Improve TAT, credit quality, process efficiency and risk controls.
- Develop credit analytics, scorecards, policy rules and data-driven underwriting approaches.
- Work closely with Technology, Product, Business, Operations, Risk and Collections teams to create an integrated Education Loan ecosystem.
- Identify gaps in existing processes and implement best-in-class credit practices.




- Build and lead the Education Loan Credit team as the business scales.
- Ensure appropriate governance, portfolio monitoring and adherence to internal credit policies.
- Partner directly with the CXO on building and scaling the Education Loan business.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a young, dynamic, technology-savvy Education Loan Credit professional with deep domain expertise.

The candidate should have:

- 714 years of total professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years of dedicated Education Loan experience – MANDATORY.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Education Loan credit analysis and underwriting.
- Experience with Education Loan products within an Education Finance Company, NBFC, Bank or Fintech.
- Proven understanding of Education Loan credit policies, underwriting, risk assessment and portfolio management.
- Strong ability to design, improve and automate credit processes.
- Technology orientation with the ability to leverage data, analytics and digital tools for credit decisioning.
- Experience in building or significantly transforming a credit function is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder-management and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to operate in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment and work closely with CXO-level leadership.
