Resident Construction Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and manage site execution activities for large-scale industrial, manufacturing, and EPC projects. The role involves overseeing mechanical and MEP construction activities, ensuring project delivery within schedule, quality, safety, and budget requirements while coordinating with multiple stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Site Management

- Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities for mechanical and MEP works at site.
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, project standards, and schedules.
- Supervise installation of HVAC systems, utility piping networks, firefighting systems, and mechanical equipment such as chillers, AHUs, compressors, pumps, and associated utilities.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor site productivity, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to achieve project goals.

Contractor & Vendor Management

- Manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely execution of project scope.
- Monitor contractor performance against timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
- Support billing certification, quantity verification, and contract compliance activities.
- Handle change orders, variation management, and claims related to mechanical scope.
- Participate in vendor discussions, technical reviews, and progress meetings.

Planning & Project Monitoring





- Collaborate with planning teams to monitor project schedules and milestones.
- Track progress against baseline schedules and proactively highlight risks and delays.
- Support preparation of look-ahead plans, recovery schedules, and resource plans.
- Ensure effective deployment of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
- Oversee material inspections, testing activities, and approval processes.
- Address non-conformances and ensure timely closure of quality-related issues.

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict implementation of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with safety teams to ensure safe execution of all mechanical works.
- Monitor permit-to-work systems and compliance with high-risk activity controls.
- Drive a strong safety culture with a focus on zero-harm execution.

Stakeholder Management

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams at the site.




- Lead weekly and monthly progress review meetings.
- Coordinate across disciplines to resolve technical and execution-related issues.
- Provide regular project updates to Project Managers and PMO teams.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily progress reports, site instructions, logs, and contractor performance records.
- Support preparation of monthly project reports, dashboards, risk registers, and issue logs.
- Ensure proper project documentation through SharePoint and project management systems.
- Track and report project KPIs, milestones, and construction progress.

Mandatory Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in Industrial, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Data Center, Infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Strong expertise in HVAC systems, mechanical utilities, piping systems, firefighting systems, and MEP coordination.
- Proven experience in site execution, construction management, and contractor management.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and contract management principles.
- Experience managing large contractor teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in quick-paced project environments with strict timelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
