Role & responsibilities
- Real-Time Fleet Monitoring: Monitor the movement and status of the company fleet through multiple GPS/VTS platforms on a real-time basis.
- Driver Violation Monitoring: Monitor violations such as overspeeding, unauthorized stoppages, route deviations, excessive idling, night driving and other defined safety/operational violations.
- Immediate Driver Coordination: Contact drivers immediately upon occurrence of a violation, understand the reason and instruct them to take corrective action.
- Violation Management: Record and maintain complete vehicle-wise and driver-wise violation data, including type of violation, time, location, reason and action taken.
- Escalation: Escalate serious or repeated violations to the concerned Operations Manager/Senior Management as per company SOP.
- Trip & Vehicle Tracking: Track all loaded and empty vehicles and monitor trip progress, delays, stoppages and deviations from planned routes.
- Control Tower Coordination: Coordinate with the Operations, Dispatch, Workshop and other concerned teams regarding vehicle movement and operational issues.
- GPS/VTS Monitoring: Monitor data from various GPS/VTS systems installed across the fleet and identify discrepancies or devices that are not transmitting properly.
- Daily MIS & Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports covering fleet movement, violations, driver compliance, vehicle stoppages and other key operational parameters.
- Driver Compliance: Follow up on repeated violations and maintain driver-wise compliance records for management review.
- Exception Monitoring: Identify unusual vehicle movements, prolonged stoppages, route deviations and other exceptions and immediately bring them to the attention of the concerned team.
- Data Accuracy:
Ensure that all fleet and violation records are updated accurately and maintained systematically.
- SOP Compliance: Ensure monitoring activities are carried out in accordance with the company's fleet safety, driver and journey-management SOPs.
- Shift Handover: Maintain proper shift-wise handover of critical vehicle movements, ongoing violations and pending issues to ensure continuous 247 monitoring.
Preferred candidate profile
- Graduate in any discipline; candidates with a background in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or Operations will be preferred.
- 13 years of experience in fleet operations, transport, logistics, control tower, GPS/VTS monitoring or similar roles.
- Candidates with experience in fleet tracking and driver monitoring will be preferred.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, data management and MIS reporting.
- Comfortable working with multiple GPS/VTS platforms and computer-based monitoring systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with drivers and operations teams.
- Should be able to identify violations, take immediate action and follow up until closure.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate vehicle-wise and driver-wise records.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple vehicles/events simultaneously.
- Should be willing to work in rotational shifts, including evening/night shifts.
- Good Hindi and English communication skills; Gujarati will be an added advantage.
- Candidates from the transportation, chemical logistics, petroleum, gas or hazardous-material logistics industry will be preferred.
- Should have a proactive approach, strong follow-up ability and a sense of responsibility toward fleet safety and compliance.
