SAP Application Delivery Lead / Application Architect

Job Summary

The SAP Application Delivery Lead / Application Architect will provide technical delivery leadership and architecture direction for large-scale SAP transformation programs, including S/4HANA migration initiatives, enterprise integration, application modernization, and global delivery execution. The role requires significant SAP technology experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to translate business priorities into scalable, secure, and outcome-focused SAP solutions.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership for global SAP application delivery across major transformation workstreams, including S/4HANA migration, integration, modernization, deployment, and stabilization.
- Establish architecture direction for enterprise SAP solutions across S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SuccessFactors, HCM, and related non-SAP platforms.
- Provide delivery governance, technical decision leadership, and direction across matrixed global teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Delivery & Program Management: Develop and manage SAP technical delivery plans across global programs, with accountability for execution quality, milestone discipline, and alignment to business outcomes.
- Delivery & Program Management: Lead technical workstreams responsible for custom development, integrations, environments, deployments, production readiness, and stabilization.
- Delivery & Program Management: Define release strategy, cutover approach, governance routines, escalation pathways, and delivery risk mitigation plans.
- SAP Architecture & Integration: Design scalable SAP architecture patterns that support Clean Core principles, extensibility, integration reuse, security, and long-term maintainability.
- SAP Architecture & Integration: Provide architecture leadership across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, SAP HCM, APIs, IDocs, and non-SAP integrations.
- SAP Architecture & Integration: Support modernization decisions that reduce technical debt, improve platform resilience, and enable enterprise-scale SAP transformation outcomes.
- Application Development & Support: Oversee SAP application design, build, testing, deployment, and support with explicit quality gates and accountability across delivery teams.




- Application Development & Support: Lead technical reviews, performance analysis, defect triage, root-cause resolution, and production readiness assessments for critical SAP capabilities.
- Application Development & Support: Ensure production support and warranty operations meet business continuity, service quality, and incident resolution expectations.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Partner with business leaders, technology executives, vendors, and delivery teams to align architecture decisions with program objectives and enterprise standards.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Lead executive-level solution reviews, requirement alignment sessions, technical steering discussions, and delivery status communications.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Address escalations, change impacts, architectural trade-offs, and delivery commitments through clear ownership and evidence-based decision making.
- Leadership & People Management: Lead matrixed global delivery teams across architecture, development, integration, testing, deployment, and support functions.
- Leadership & People Management: Develop technical talent, strengthen delivery standards, and promote reusable methods, knowledge sharing, and architecture discipline across teams.
- Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: The role requires sound judgment across architecture, delivery, risk, and stakeholder decisions in a matrixed global environment. The candidate will be expected to evaluate trade-offs across SAP S/4HANA, integration, SAP BTP, Clean Core, security, performance, and delivery timelines while making evidence-based decisions that protect business outcomes and enterprise standards.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

- 15+ years of SAP technology experience, including senior accountability for technical delivery, architecture governance, and global transformation execution.
- Proven experience across full-cycle SAP implementations,



S/4HANA migrations, global rollouts, and complex application modernization programs.
- Deep understanding of SAP Integration Suite, APIs, IDocs, event-driven integration, SAP BTP, Clean Core principles, and side-by-side extensibility.
- Experience with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and related enterprise compliance requirements.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and leadership skills in matrixed global environments.

Supervision Responsibilities

The role will provide technical leadership and delivery direction across matrixed global teams, including architects, developers, integration specialists, testing teams, vendors, and support resources. Responsibilities include coaching senior technical talent, strengthening architecture and delivery practices, and developing reusable capabilities that improve execution quality across programs.

Other Requirements

Travel may be required up to 10% based on business needs.

Job Requirements

To qualify, candidates must have:

- Bachelor s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years in SAP technical roles, including 5+ years leading application delivery, architecture, integration, or development teams.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale SAP transformation programs, including S/4HANA migration, global rollout, integration, cutover, and stabilization responsibilities.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP Integration Suite, APIs, IDocs, SAP BTP, Clean Core, side-by-side extensibility, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and enterprise compliance-related SAP capabilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders, business leaders, vendors, and global delivery teams.
- Preferred certifications include ABAP on Cloud Backend Developer, SAP CPI Integration Developer, and SAP Signavio Process Management Consultant.
