Job Summary

We are looking for a Manager – Project Accounting to lead Project Accounting and Asset Accounting operations within a global Finance/GBS environment. The role will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, driving process improvements, managing stakeholders, and ensuring delivery within defined SLAs and quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Project Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, IFRS, Lease Accounting, Capitalization, Reconciliations, Audits, Internal Controls and SAP, along with proven people and stakeholder management experience.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Asset Accounting

- Lead Project Accounting activities for global business units/entities.
- Oversee Fixed Asset Accounting, asset account closures and related reporting.
- Review accounting transactions, fixed asset postings, master data and account reconciliations.
- Review long-outstanding items and ensure appropriate capitalization and accounting treatment.
- Ensure project and asset data quality and drive corrective actions.
- Provide expertise in IFRS, lease accounting and capitalization.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and audit requirements.

People & Team Management

- Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 employees.
- Allocate work, set targets and monitor team performance.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and continuous feedback.
- Identify capability gaps and create development plans.
- Drive employee engagement, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Act as backup for the Director when required.

Stakeholder Management





- Act as a key business partner for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global Book-to-Report/Finance teams across regions.
- Understand stakeholder requirements and provide timely, practical solutions.
- Manage escalations, queries and ad-hoc requests within agreed timelines.

Process Improvement & Project Management

- Lead process optimization, automation and digitalization initiatives.
- Monitor SLAs, KPIs and Balanced Scorecards.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and controls.
- Lead accounting activities related to Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures (M&A;).
- Drive process documentation and knowledge management.

Resource Management

- Plan team capacity and resource allocation.
- Support recruitment based on approved workforce requirements.
- Manage and monitor FTE budgets.
- Ensure continuity and effective delivery of finance operations.

Mandatory Skills

- 10–18 years of experience in Accounting / Controlling / Costing / Financial Reporting / Shared Services.
- Strong experience in Project Accounting and/or Asset Accounting.
- Proven people management experience with a team of around 10 members.
- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP – Mandatory.
- Good knowledge of IFRS, capitalization, lease accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience in audits, internal controls and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced MS Excel and proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent English communication skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working in an MNC, Global Business Services (GBS), Shared Services or Captive GCC environment.
- Experience supporting global finance operations.
- Exposure to process transformation, automation and digitalization.
- Experience in M&A; accounting projects is an advantage.
