Job Description - LD Manager

About the Role

Quarks is looking for an experienced and strategic Learning Development (LD) Manager to lead the organizations learning, technology upskilling, and capability-building initiatives.

The role will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive LD strategy covering technology and engineering skills, digital transformation, AI/ML, Data Science Engineering, behavioral and leadership development, and soft-skills programs .

The ideal candidate should have robust experience in IT Services, Technology, Digital Engineering, or Consulting environments , with a proven ability to work closely with Technology Leaders, Engineering Heads, Business Leaders, SMEs, and HR to identify current and future capability gaps and build scalable learning interventions aligned with business growth.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in building technology-focused learning roadmaps and upskilling programs that enable employees to adopt emerging technologies and strengthen digital capabilities.

Key Responsibilities 1. Learning Strategy Capability Development

- Develop and implement the overall LD strategy aligned with Quarks business objectives, technology roadmap, and growth plans.
- Conduct organization-wide Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in partnership with Business Heads, Technology Leaders, Engineering Heads, Delivery Leaders, HR, and functional managers.
- Identify current and future skill gaps across technology, engineering, digital, behavioral, managerial, and leadership capabilities .
- Create annual and quarterly learning roadmaps and calendars based on business and technology priorities.
- Develop role-based competency frameworks, learning paths, and capability-building plans .

2. Technology, Digital Engineering Upskilling

- Design and manage technical capability-development programs for employees across technology and engineering functions.
- Build and execute LD programs aligned with emerging technology and business priorities, including:
- Digital Transformation
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Machine Learning (ML)
- Data Science
- Data Engineering
- Cloud Cloud Engineering
- Software Engineering Product Engineering
- Generative AI and emerging AI technologies
- Automation and digital technologies
- Other relevant emerging technology areas.

- Partner with Technology Leaders, Engineering SMEs, Architects, Delivery Heads, and external technology training partners to develop structured technical learning programs.
- Drive upskilling and reskilling initiatives to prepare employees for evolving technology and client requirements.
- Build structured learning journeys for engineers, developers, architects, technology consultants, and other technical roles.
- Establish technology certifications,



role-based learning paths, competency frameworks, and skill matrices .
- Track technology skill development, certification progress, adoption, and business impact.

3. Digital Transformation Future Skills

- Identify emerging technology trends and translate them into relevant learning and capability-building initiatives .
- Work with business and technology leadership to identify future skills required for Quarks growth and digital transformation roadmap.
- Develop future-skills programs focused on AI, ML, Data, Cloud, Automation, Digital Engineering, and other emerging technologies.
- Support organization-wide technology adoption through structured learning, awareness, workshops, hands-on programs, and digital learning interventions.
- Build internal technology capability to support new service offerings, client requirements, and evolving market demands.

4. Behavioral Soft Skills Training

Design and implement programs focused on:

- Communication and presentation skills
- Business communication
- Stakeholder management
- Client management
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Collaboration and teamwork
- Problem-solving and decision-making
- Time and productivity management
- Conflict management
- Emotional intelligence
- Executive presence
- Consultative and customer-centric mindset

Programs should be tailored for individual contributors, managers, senior leaders, technology teams, and client-facing teams.

5. Leadership Managerial Development

- Develop structured programs for first-time managers, mid-level managers, and senior leaders.
- Build leadership-development journeys focused on people management, coaching, performance management, strategic thinking, decision-making, and business acumen.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and develop high-potential employees.
- Support succession planning and internal leadership capability building.
- Drive coaching and mentoring initiatives across the organization.

6. Learning Program Design Delivery

- Design engaging learning interventions using a blend of:
- Instructor-led training
- Virtual learning
- Workshops
- E-learning
- Self-paced learning
- Technology labs / hands-on learning
- Simulations and case studies
- On-the-job learning
- Coaching and mentoring

- Facilitate selected behavioral, managerial, technology-awareness, and capability-building programs.
- Identify and manage external trainers, technology experts, consultants, learning platforms, certification providers, and training partners.
- Ensure consistent quality and effectiveness across all learning interventions.

Learning Governance Measurement

- Establish LD processes, policies, learning calendars, and governance mechanisms.
- Define and track key LD metrics, including:
- Training coverage
- Participation and completion rates
- Employee feedback
- Skill and competency improvement
- Technology skill development
- Certification completion
- Training effectiveness
- Business impact and ROI

- Measure the effectiveness of technical and digital upskilling programs and continuously improve them based on business requirements.

8. Stakeholder Vendor Management

- Work closely with the CEO, Leadership Team, Technology Leaders, Engineering Heads, Business Heads, Delivery Leaders, HR, and Functional Heads to ensure learning priorities are aligned with business and technology needs.
- Build strong relationships with internal SMEs and external technology/learning partners.
- Manage the LD budget and optimize training investments.
- Evaluate and onboard appropriate learning platforms, content providers, technology trainers, certification partners, and digital learning providers.

Candidate Profile Experience

- 8+ years of overall experience in Learning Development, Talent Development, Organizational Capability Building, or related areas.
- Preferably 5+ years in a managerial or leadership role managing end-to-end LD initiatives.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in IT Services, Technology, Digital Engineering, Software Engineering, Technology Consulting, or related industries .
- Candidates with experience managing technology-focused LD / technical upskilling programs will be strongly preferred.

- MBA/PGDM in HR, Learning Development, Organizational Development, or related fields would be preferred.
- Certifications in LD, Instructional Design, Coaching, Behavioural Training, Leadership Development, or Organizational Development will be an added advantage.
- Certifications such as ATD, SHRM, CPTD, ICF Coaching, or similar would be desirable.
