JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE MANAGER

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage procurement activities for our manufacturing plant in Palwal, Haryana. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely availability of raw materials, components, consumables, and services while achieving competitive costs and maintaining required quality and delivery standards.

The ideal candidate should have robust experience in vendor development, sourcing, negotiation, purchase planning, supplier management, and cost reduction, preferably in the Automotive, Auto Components, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Fabrication industry.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchase Planning

- Manage day-to-day purchase and procurement activities based on production and material requirements.
- Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely placement of purchase orders.
- Coordinate with PPC, Production, Stores, Quality, Engineering, and Finance for material requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, components, consumables, and MRO items.
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Identify and resolve material shortages and supply-related issues.

Vendor Development & Management

- Identify and develop new suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, and delivery requirements.




- Evaluate supplier capabilities and commercial terms.
- Maintain and develop a reliable supplier base in and around Palwal, Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, and NCR.
- Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS) parameters.
- Coordinate with Quality for supplier audits, quality issues, and corrective actions.
- Develop alternate suppliers for critical and single-source materials.

Cost Reduction & Negotiation

- Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from multiple vendors.
- Drive cost reduction through alternate sourcing, vendor development, localization, and price benchmarking.
- Monitor raw material and commodity price movements.
- Track and report purchase price variance and procurement savings.

Material & Inventory Management

- Coordinate with Stores and PPC to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Monitor critical, slow-moving, and excess inventory.
- Ensure timely procurement of long-lead and critical items.
- Support initiatives to reduce inventory carrying costs and material shortages.
- Ensure proper follow-up of material schedules against production requirements.

Supplier Quality & Delivery

- Monitor supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) and quality performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers for delayed deliveries and quality rejections.
- Ensure timely corrective actions for supplier-related issues.
- Work with Quality and Production teams to minimize supply-related production disruptions.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
