Design Engineer (AutoCAD - Fabrication Drawings)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed 2D fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop SS (Stainless Steel) and MS (Mild Steel) tank drawings, including General Arrangement (GA), assembly, and part drawings.
- Interpret engineering sketches, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Convert design concepts into fabrication-ready drawings.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) with material specifications.
- Generate drawings for cutting, fitting, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
- Ensure accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, and technical details in drawings.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to resolve drawing-related queries.
- Provide technical support to the shop floor during fabrication and assembly activities.
- Maintain drawing records, revision history, and document control.
- Ensure all drawings are complete, accurate, and ready for production.

Required Qualifications





- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in design engineering or fabrication drawing preparation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D).
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, sheet metal, and tank manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in preparing BOMs and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with SS/MS fabrication projects.
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and drafting practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
