Job Title: Trainee Software Engineer - FinLens / Bank Statement Analysis Location: Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India Experience Required: Freshers / Early Career

We are looking for a Trainee Software Engineer to join our team in Dehradun.

This role is not a generic full-stack development role. The primary responsibility will be to work with FinLens , our bank statement analysis platform, and help deliver accurate bank statement analysis for lending and underwriting use cases.

Responsibilities :

- Use FinLens to process and deliver bank statement analysis for client requirements.
- Review bank statement outputs and identify issues in parsing, categorization, calculations, or data interpretation.
- Understand different bank statement formats, transaction patterns, balances, cash flows, and analysis outputs.
- Read and understand existing Python/Django code used in bank statement processing and analysis.
- Make small to medium code fixes under guidance to improve or correct analysis delivery.
- Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot complex cases where bank statements are messy, inconsistent, scanned, or unusually formatted.
- Support QA and operations teams in validating outputs before delivery.
- Document findings, fixes, and repeatable issues clearly.
- Gradually learn backend development, APIs, databases, testing, and deployment practices used in the product.
- Maintain discipline around accuracy, confidentiality, and client-sensitive financial data.

Requirements :

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.




- Freshers are welcome.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python.
- Familiarity with Django or React will be helpful, but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Git will be helpful.
- Strong comprehension skills. You should be comfortable reading existing code and understanding how it works.
- Strong analytical ability. Many problems will not have obvious answers and will require investigation.
- Patience to work with real-world messy data, financial documents, and edge cases.
- Confidence to learn independently and solve problems step by step.
- Good attention to detail, especially when working with numbers and financial data.
- Positive communication skills and willingness to ask clear questions when stuck.
- Interest in fintech, lending, AI-assisted workflows, document processing, or data analysis will be a plus.

Good to Have

- Exposure to Python, Django, React, SQL, REST APIs, or Linux.
- Basic understanding of accounting, banking, lending, or financial statements.
- Experience with debugging, writing test cases, or reading logs.
- Exposure to AI tools, OpenAI, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud systems will be a plus, but is not required.
