AstraZeneca seeks a Lead Engineer for SIEM and Detection Platforms in Chennai to design and oversee enterprise-scale threat detection strategies across cloud, on-premises, and operational technology environments. This role combines detection engineering leadership with platform optimization and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen security posture.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end detection engineering initiatives covering threat modeling, algorithm design, and validation across multiple platforms

Build and maintain the organization's detection content library with coverage mapping to adversary tactics and techniques

Drive platform performance optimization and tuning to improve signal quality while reducing false positives

Establish detection engineering standards, methodologies, and quality controls for consistency and portability

Collaborate with offensive security, SOC,



and incident response teams to validate detections and address coverage gaps

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information security, computer science, or equivalent qualified experience

Five or more years of detection engineering experience, preferably in security operations or dedicated detection teams

Deep expertise in detection logic design, threat modeling, and MITRE ATT&CK; framework application

Five or more years hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, NDR, and cloud-native security platforms

Three or more years scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages for detection automation

Three or more years working with standardized detection formats including Sigma rules and YARA signatures

Familiarity with operational technology environments and constraints specific to industrial settings
