The Opportunity We are looking for an exceptional Vice President of Engineering to lead engineering strategy, architecture, execution, and team development for a mission-critical healthcare technology platform. This role is for a proven engineering leader who has built and scaled complex software products, understands the realities of healthcare insurance technology, and can translate business priorities into secure, scalable, high-quality products. You will partner closely with executive leadership and Product to shape the technology roadmap, strengthen engineering execution, and embed AI into how software is designed, developed, tested, and delivered. Healthcare insurance experience is mandatory. We are specifically seeking candidates who understand the technical and operational complexities of healthcare payer systems—not candidates whose experience is limited to general-purpose SaaS, fintech, or AI products.

Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Strategy and Architecture
• Own the engineering strategy, technical architecture, and execution roadmap in alignment with business and product priorities.
• Lead the design and evolution of scalable, cloud-native, enterprise-grade software platforms.
• Drive sound architectural decisions across application design, APIs, data systems, integrations, security, performance, and reliability.
• Balance technical innovation with maintainability, delivery speed, and long-term platform health. 2. AI-Enabled Engineering
• Establish practical, measurable adoption of AI-assisted software development across engineering teams.
• Evaluate and implement AI-enabled workflows for coding, testing, code review, documentation, debugging, and developer productivity.
• Identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into products where they deliver meaningful customer and business value.
• Maintain strong standards for software quality, security, privacy, and human oversight in AI-enabled workflows. 3. Healthcare Insurance Technology




• Apply a strong understanding of healthcare payer operations and the technology underpinning claims and payment workflows.
• Lead engineering solutions that address healthcare payment accuracy, claims editing, policy application, and related payer technology challenges.
• Ensure systems can support complex business rules, evolving healthcare policies, large-scale data processing, and enterprise integrations.
• Partner with Product and domain experts to translate healthcare requirements into robust technical solutions. 4. Engineering Execution and Operational Excellence
• Improve delivery predictability, release quality, engineering throughput, and production reliability.
• Establish clear engineering metrics, operating rhythms, technical standards, and accountability.
• Strengthen automated testing, CI/CD, observability, incident management, and continuous improvement.
• Make informed build-versus-buy, modernization, and technology investment decisions. 5. Leadership and Team Development
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams and leadership capabilities.
• Establish a culture of technical ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Partner with Product, Data, Security, Compliance, and business leadership to deliver shared outcomes.
• Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, priorities, and progress effectively to executive stakeholders. Required QualificationsCandidates must meet all core requirements below.
• 20+ years of qualified software engineering experience, with substantial experience leading engineering organizations and delivering complex production software.
• Mandatory healthcare insurance

experience:
Direct experience building or leading technology for health insurers, healthcare payers, health plans, or healthcare insurance technology platforms.
• Demonstrated technical depth across full-stack engineering, including frontend and backend systems, APIs, databases, integrations, and distributed applications.
• Proven experience owning architecture and engineering delivery for scalable, cloud-based enterprise products.




• Demonstrated experience leading engineering managers and senior technical teams, with accountability for delivery, quality, and operational outcomes.
• Practical experience adopting AI-assisted software engineering tools or AI-enabled development workflows, with the ability to demonstrate measurable impact or concrete implementation outcomes.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, production monitoring, security, and reliability engineering.
• Experience partnering with Product and executive stakeholders to establish roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, strategic judgment, and the ability to remain technically credible while operating at an executive level.
• Ability to work from Hyderabad, India. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with payment integrity, claims editing, claims adjudication, medical policy rules, clinical coding, or healthcare cost-containment platforms.
• Experience in healthcare enterprise SaaS or mission-critical systems processing large volumes of sensitive data.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations through rapid growth, platform modernization, or significant product transformation.
• Familiarity with applicable healthcare data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
