Location:
Head Office, Bhubaneswar, Odisha Department: Product Design & Engineering Employment: Full time, On-site

About the role
We are looking for a skilled FEA Specialist with hands-on experience in ANSYS Mechanical and finite element analysis to support the structural engineering, validation and optimisation of electric and sustainable caravans. The candidate will analyse caravan chassis, stainless-steel structural frames, mounting brackets, body structures, sandwich panels and other critical components to evaluate stress, deformation, structural integrity and safety under realistic operating conditions. The role involves converting CAD models into simulation-ready geometry, defining appropriate materials and loads, interpreting results and working closely with the CAD design and fabrication teams to improve product strength, reduce weight and ensure manufacturability.

Key responsibilities
- Import and prepare 3D CAD models from Autodesk Fusion or other compatible CAD software for ANSYS analysis.
- Develop suitable finite element models using appropriate element types, mesh strategies and contact definitions.
- Perform static structural analysis of caravan chassis, SS 304 tubular frames, mounting brackets, joints and support structures.
- Analyse stress, deformation, strain, load distribution and factor of safety under defined operating conditions.
- Conduct modal analysis to identify natural frequencies and potential vibration-related issues.
- Perform buckling analysis for slender members, supports and structural components where applicable.
- Evaluate load cases associated with occupant loads, equipment mounting, road-induced loads, braking, cornering and uneven-road conditions.
- Assess bolted joints, welded connections and load transfer between the chassis, body and mounted equipment.
- Conduct mesh convergence studies and verify that simulation results are sufficiently independent of mesh refinement.
- Perform fatigue analysis where appropriate, based on defined load histories and material data.
- Identify structural weak points and recommend design modifications to improve safety, stiffness, durability and weight efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Autodesk Fusion CAD engineer to optimise frame geometry, tube dimensions, reinforcements and material selection.

- Correlate simulation results with physical prototype tests wherever practical.
- Prepare technical reports documenting assumptions, boundary conditions, material properties, results, limitations and recommendations.
- Maintain simulation files, material databases, design revisions and engineering validation records. Essential qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
- Practical experience with ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical.
- Strong understanding of finite element analysis, structural mechanics, strength of materials and material behaviour.
- Experience with meshing, contacts, boundary conditions, load application and solver convergence.
- Ability to interpret stress concentrations, deformation plots, reaction forces and safety factors correctly.
- Knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium, welded structures, tubular frames and sheet-metal components.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, material specifications, weld details and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience preparing clear engineering simulation reports. Preferred qualifications
- Experience analysing automotive chassis, campervans, caravans, trailers, vehicle bodies or industrial structures.
- Knowledge of SS 304, aluminium 6082-T6 and other structural materials.
- Experience with fatigue, modal, buckling and nonlinear contact analysis.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim or other CAD-preparation tools.
- Understanding of lightweight structural design and weight optimisation.
- Experience correlating FEA predictions with physical testing.
- Knowledge of vibration, road loads and vehicle structural validation. Performance expectations The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Establish a repeatable FEA workflow for caravan structural validation.
- Identify and document critical stress and deformation locations.
- Recommend evidence-based design improvements.
- Produce traceable simulation reports for engineering design reviews.
- Support prototype testing and iterative design optimisation.

- Clearly distinguish preliminary simulations from validated engineering conclusions. Application requirements Candidates should submit:
- Updated résumé.
- Examples of ANSYS projects or simulation reports.
- Screenshots of mesh quality, boundary conditions, stress and deformation results.
- Examples of mesh convergence or experimental validation, if available.
- Expected salary and notice period. Apply at: [email protected]
