Position Summary:

To help drive this next chapter, we're seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Manager, Quality Engineering, to lead our Test Environment & Data Management organization. This role defines and executes engineering strategy, workplace management capabilities, service virtualization solutions, and AI-enabled testing infrastructure that supports software delivery across DIRECTV. As a people leader, you will build and develop high-performing engineering teams while driving modernization, automation, operational excellence, and scalable test environment solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in environment management, service virtualization, data orchestration, and AI-enabled quality engineering with proven people leadership experience and a passion for operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Develop and evolve enterprise environment management and test data strategies.
- Align environment planning and quality engineering capabilities with business objectives.
- Drive innovation through AI-enabled testing, service virtualization, and automated provisioning solutions.
- Partner across Engineering, Product, Operations, Dev Ops, and Architecture teams to improve delivery outcomes.
- Establish roadmap priorities supporting enterprise software delivery.

People Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams responsible for environment and data management services.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards and operational excellence practices across the organization.

Technology & Delivery:

- Lead enterprise test environment and data management capabilities.
- Drive service virtualization and API simulation strategies.




- Establish environment provisioning, governance, availability, and release management practices.
- Support modernization initiatives leveraging automation and AI-enabled testing capabilities.
- Ensure scalable and reliable testing infrastructure supporting enterprise technology delivery

AI & Innovation:

- Drive adoption of AI-enabled quality engineering and automation capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging environment management technologies and best practices.
- Improve engineering productivity through automation and intelligent tooling.
- Champion continuous improvement across quality engineering operations.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

- 8-10 years of progressive software engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing and developing technical teams of individual contributors.
- Demonstrated ability to own and execute organizational priorities with minimal oversight.
- Strong experience with test environment management, environment availability, provisioning processes, service virtualization, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise service virtualization platforms.
- Experience leading complex engineering initiatives supporting quality engineering organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience operating within Agile and Dev Ops delivery environments.
