We're Hiring | Technical Lead – UPI & NPCI Integrations

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead – UPI & NPCI Integrations to anchor the end-to-end technology development of a UPI-enabled fintech application, including sponsor bank integration, NPCI onboarding, testing, certification and production launch.

This is an ownership-driven role for someone who understands the UPI ecosystem and can translate business requirements into a secure, scalable and production-ready platform.

Key Responsibilities

- UPI Application Development: Lead the architecture and development of the mobile application, backend services and supporting payment infrastructure.
- NPCI & Sponsor Bank Integration: Drive technical integration with the sponsor PSP bank and relevant ecosystem partners, including onboarding, certification, testing and go-live readiness.
- Solution Architecture: Design APIs, transaction workflows, payment processing, reconciliation, transaction-status handling, reversals and exception management.
- Security & Reliability: Ensure robust application security, encryption, access controls, audit trails, monitoring, scalability and high availability.
- Technology Delivery: Lead internal developers and external technology partners, manage delivery milestones, resolve technical dependencies and drive execution through launch.
- Production Readiness: Oversee integration, performance and security testing, operational readiness, deployment and post-launch stabilisation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business, product, compliance, operations, banks and technology partners.

What We're Looking For





- 8–12+ years of experience in software engineering, fintech, digital payments or banking technology.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in UPI integration, preferably taking a solution from sponsor bank engagement and technical integration through certification and production launch.
- Strong understanding of UPI transaction flows, payment APIs, reconciliation, reversals, transaction failures and exception handling.
- Experience building secure, scalable backend systems and integrating mobile applications with payment infrastructure.
- Proficiency in relevant backend technologies, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, DevOps and application security.
- Proven ability to work with banks, payment partners, technology vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset, technical judgement and execution capabilities.

Priority will be given to candidates who have personally led a UPI integration or launch. Experience limited to general app development, without hands-on payment ecosystem integration, may not be sufficient.
