Job Description: Thermal CAD Engineer

Purpose of the Role

- Perform 3D CAD design and integration activities related to Aerodynamics (AeroX) development of rolling stock vehicles and its components.
- Create and maintain water tight assemblies supporting AeroX and thermal studies
- Support AeroX engineers in converting engineering concepts into production ready CAD deliverables.
- To support in design reviews, technical investigations and issue resolution activities by providing accurate CAD data to the stakeholders.

MAIN Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Preparing CFD-ready geometries and implementing design modifications resulting for aerodynamic and thermal studies.
- Creating aerodynamic models for components like, train front mask, fairings, external surfaces and AeroX related assemblies
- To extract download engineering data, CAD models, product structures and associated documentation in DMA and PLM environments while ensuring configuration control, traceability and compliance with engineering processes
- Performing interface management and clash resolution with Structure, Integration, Routing, Industrial and System Engineering teams
- Supporting AeroX engineers in design maturation, concept evaluation and geometry optimization activities.
- Deliver AeroX CAD activities in accordance with project cost, quality,



delivery and performance targets while maintaining engineering data integrity.
- Ensure first-time-right quality of CAD deliverables and closure of review comments within agreed timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement in digital engineering, model-based development and CAD quality processes.

Educational Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering / Aerospace Engineering.
- Certification or advanced training in CATIA V5/V6 and PLM tools (Preferred).

Experience

- 5+ years of experience in CAD modelling and integration using CATIA V5/V6.
- Experience working with CFD teams for geometry preparation Competencies & Skills
- Expert knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, Drafting)
- Positive understanding of PLM tools (3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA)
- Ability to prepare CFD-ready geometries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and global engineering teams.
- Effective communication and technical presentation skills.
- Self-driven and proactive approach to task execution.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in project environments.
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
- Ability to participate effectively in technical meetings and prepare technical documentation.
