Job description

Senior Accountant | Business Services & Advisory
Sydney CBD | 3 Days WFH | 6 Weeks Annual Leave | Up to 10% Bonus
What if you could have genuinely compelling clients, excellent career progression and a work-life balance that's actually respected?

We're partnering with a progressive, highly regarded Chartered Accounting firm in Sydney CBD that's doing things a little differently.
With a strong focus on flexibility, professional development and looking after its people, this is a firm where you're trusted to do your job without the unnecessary pressures often associated with public practice.
You'll work with an impressive portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, complex family groups and privately owned businesses, gaining exposure to meaningful advisory work while enjoying some of the best benefits in the market.
Why you'll love working here
- Work from home: Enjoy up to 3 days WFH each week, with flexible start and finish times.
- No rigid targets: You're trusted to manage your workload, with performance measured on quality and outcomes rather than hours recorded.
- Genuine work-life balance: A 9–5 culture with no expectation of regular overtime.
- Above-market salary: Competitive remuneration with annual performance bonuses of up to 10%.
- Extra time off: Enjoy 6 weeks annual leave, additional wellness days and your birthday off.
- Work from anywhere: Spend up to one month each year working remotely from anywhere in Australia.
- Exceptional training: A $3,000 annual professional development budget, structured mentoring and direct access to experienced Partners.
- More advisory, less compliance: Dedicated offshore support handles much of the preparation work,

freeing you up to focus on complex tax matters, advisory and client relationships.
- Dedicated admin support: A team administration assistant to take care of the day-to-day admin, allowing you to focus on the work that matters.
- Ongoing development: Fortnightly internal and external training sessions, with plenty of opportunities to expand your technical and advisory skills.
- Impressive clients: Work with HNWIs, sophisticated family groups, international businesses and privately owned companies with turnovers exceeding $100m.
- Genuine progression: Clear development pathways towards Manager, Senior Manager and ultimately Partnership, including potential future equity opportunities.
- A culture you'll actually enjoy: Down-to-earth Partners, no micromanagement, regular team lunches, fitness initiatives, social events and a genuinely supportive environment.
- Modern systems: A fully cloud-based, paperless environment with technology designed to make your working day easier.
The opportunity
You'll join an established Business Services & Tax team, working closely with experienced Managers and Partners while gradually taking greater ownership of your own clients.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional compliance,

develop your commercial understanding and become more involved in the advisory side of accounting.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Working with complex family groups, HNWIs and privately owned businesses.
- Assisting with Div7a, SMSF, tax planning, business structuring, M+A, CGT Advisory, FBT, management reporting and cash flow forecasting.
- Building direct relationships with clients, attending advisory meetings alongside Partners and gradually becoming a trusted point of contact.
- Getting involved in broader business advisory projects, rather than being restricted to compliance.
- Mentoring junior accountants and developing your leadership skills.
About you
- 4–6+ years' experience in Australian Public Practice Accounting.
- CA/CPA qualified or currently studying.
- Strong technical experience across Business Services and Tax.
- Comfortable working with companies, trusts, partnerships and complex group structures.
- Someone who enjoys building client relationships and wants to develop beyond traditional compliance work.
Interested?
If you're a Senior Accountant who enjoys the technical side of accounting but wants more client interaction, better flexibility, better perks, stronger support and a genuine opportunity to progress, this could be exactly what you've been looking for.
You don't need to be actively looking to have a conversation. Sometimes it's simply worth knowing what's out there.
