Job Summary

To dispense medications accurately, ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, maintain pharmacy inventory, and provide appropriate medication guidance to patients and healthcare professionals in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispense prescribed medications accurately as per physician orders and prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, and potential medication errors.
- Provide medication instructions to patients regarding dosage, administration, storage, and precautions.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring proper storage and expiry monitoring.
- Monitor near-expiry and expired medicines and ensure appropriate segregation and disposal.
- Maintain pharmacy records, billing details, stock registers,



and controlled-drug documentation as applicable.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure protected medication practices.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy procedures, and applicable drug and pharmacy regulations.
- Monitor temperature-sensitive medicines and maintain cold-chain requirements where applicable.
- Participate in stock audits, inventory reconciliation, and medication safety initiatives.

Educational Qualification

- B.Pharm or D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the respective State Pharmacy Council, as applicable.
