We are looking for an experienced Assistant Vice President to lead the GL Financial Accounting function within the insurance domain. The ideal candidate should have robust leadership experience expertise in financial accounting and the ability to manage managers and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the GL financial accounting operations.
Manage and mentor managers ensuring team performance and business targets.
Oversee month-end quarter-end and year-end financial closing.
Review financial reports general ledger journal entries and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with insurance accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues.
Drive process improvements automation and operational efficiency.
Oversee audit requirements financial risks and internal controls.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Commerce or a related field; CA/CPA/CMA preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience as Senior Manager or AVP in Insurance Accounting Domain.
15 years of experience in GL financial accounting and RTR with mandatory insurance-domain experience.
Proven experience in managing managers and leading financial accounting teams.
Solid knowledge of general ledger financial reporting reconciliations and month-end closing.
Knowledge of IFRS 17 local GAAP and insurance accounting standards.
Experience with SAP/Oracle and advanced MS Excel.
Excellent leadership stakeholder management and analytical skills.
