Job Description – Junior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Finance Manager
Experience: Fresher – 1 year
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com or MBA in Finance.
Job Purpose
To support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with statutory
compliances, reconciliations, and ensure timely reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Accounting: Record purchase invoices, expenses, payments, receipts, journal entries,
and maintain accurate books of accounts.
Vendor & Customer Accounting: Maintain ledgers, reconcile balances, track outstanding
payments and receivables, and coordinate for pending invoices.
Bank & Ledger Reconciliation: Perform bank, vendor, customer, and other ledger reconciliations
and resolve discrepancies.
GST & TDS Compliance: Assist in GST and TDS workings, GSTR-2B reconciliation, and preparation
of data for statutory filings.
Expense Management: Verify expense claims, supporting documents, approvals, and ensure
correct accounting classification.
MIS & Reporting:



Prepare outstanding reports, expense summaries, reconciliation statements,
and other periodic reports.
Audit & Month-End Closing: Assist in monthly closing, audit documentation, ledger scrutiny, and
preparation of supporting schedules.
Documentation & Process Compliance: Maintain organised financial records and adhere to
company accounting procedures and approval processes.
Key Skills Required
Valuable understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and bank reconciliation.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally or Zoho Books.
Robust attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and timeliness of accounting entries.
Timely completion of reconciliations.
Compliance with reporting deadlines.
Proper documentation and resolution of discrepancies.
