Key responsibilities

GSTcompliance

Prepare and file monthly and quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) for assigned

clients within due dates.

Reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B and purchase registers; follow up on

mismatches with vendors.

Assist with annual returns (GSTR-9 / 9C), e-invoicing and e-way bill queries.

Support responses to GST notices and maintain filing records for each client.

TDS compliance

Compute TDS on salaries, contractor, qualified, rent and other payments under the

applicable sections.

Prepare challans and track timely deposit of TDS.

File quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q and 27Q where applicable) and correction

returns.

Generate and issue Form 16 / 16A; reconcile with Form 26AS and TRACES data.

Accounting

Maintain books of accounts for clients in Tally (Tally Prime / ERP 9) and Zoho Books.

Record day-to-day transactions: sales, purchases, expenses, payroll entries and journal

adjustments.

Perform bank, vendor and customer ledger reconciliations.





Prepare trial balances and assist in month-end and year-end closing and finalisation of

accounts.

Internal audit — vouching

Vouch transactions against supporting documents (invoices, bills, agreements,

approvals, bank statements).

Check accuracy, authorisation, period and classification of entries in the books.

Test compliance with the client's internal controls and policies.

Document findings in working papers and draft observations for the audit manager.

Stock checks

Conduct and observe physical stock verification at client warehouses, stores and

plants.

Reconcile physical counts with book stock and investigate variances.

Note slow-moving, damaged or obsolete inventory and report discrepancies.

General

Coordinate with client accounts teams for data, documents and clarifications.

Keep track of statutory due dates and maintain an organised compliance calendar.

Assist in statutory and tax audits and other assignments as required.
