Roles and Responsibilities
Design and develop frame and frame-assembly components for vehicle architecture requirements.
Develop design proposals for side members, cross members and mounting brackets based on factor of safety, and package them with the vehicle.
Develop conceptual layouts against vehicle requirements and integrate selected aggregates with the frame.
Create 3D CAD and 2D detailing of frame components considering tooling and manufacturing feasibility.
Provide design countermeasures for issues from design reviews, CAE feedback and proto build.
Generate engineering drawings and release them for PLM stage release.
Work with the proto build team and suppliers on proto vehicle builds.
Prepare DMU reports, DFMEA, DRBFM, Tool Go Ahead, engineering risk reports and supplier sign-off.
Work with manufacturing, strategic sourcing and SQA across frame development stages.
Prepare component-level design validation plans and track issues during vehicle endurance testing.
Benchmark competitor frames and study product versions to work out commonisation.
Run final quality checks of outputs before delivery and meet project timelines.
