Job Summary: B R COMPUTERS is looking for detail-oriented and responsible Proof Readers to review and verify Hindi & English manuscripts before final approval and printing. The candidate will be responsible for checking typed manuscripts against the original manuscripts, identifying errors, coordinating corrections with typists, and ensuring that the final documents are accurate and ready for printing.

The ideal candidate should have excellent language skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities

- Proofread typed manuscripts against the original manuscripts.
- Identify and mark spelling, grammatical, punctuation, and typographical errors.
- Carefully check Hindi and/or English text, mathematical symbols, equations, tables, and special characters, as applicable.
- Complete first-proof checking and communicate corrections clearly to the typing team.
- Review corrected documents during the second-proof stage and identify any remaining errors.
- Verify that all corrections have been incorporated accurately before final approval.
- Coordinate with typists, correction operators, and the quality-checking team to resolve discrepancies.




- Follow the prescribed workflow and update the status of assigned jobs in the ERP/software system.
- Complete assigned work within the required timelines without compromising accuracy.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Graduate in any discipline; candidates with strong Hindi or English language proficiency will be preferred.
- Previous experience in proofreading, editing, typesetting, publishing, DTP is desirable.
- Excellent command of Hindi and/or English, depending on the assigned work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify even minor errors.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word and PDF document handling.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with typists and other team members.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in proofreading of educational publishing and computer working will be preferred.
