The company enables indigenization and local production of key electrical, mechanical, and electronic components for Energy, EV, Aerospace, Defense, and other critical manufacturing industries.

Role Overview The Manufacturing Costing Engineer will be responsible for analysing engineering drawings, evaluating manufacturing processes and preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for components and assemblies across Aerospace, Defence, Energy, EV, Mobility and other industrial sectors.

The role involves understanding technical requirements, identifying suitable manufacturing processes, preparing detailed cost breakdowns and supporting commercial quotations for domestic and international customers.

The candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supplier development and business development teams to evaluate manufacturing feasibility, optimise costs, develop competitive sourcing strategies and identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality, delivery or sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

- Review engineering drawings, 3D models, BOMs, material specifications and technical requirements.
- Identify suitable manufacturing processes and develop process-wise cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns covering raw materials, machining, fabrication, casting, forging, tooling, heat treatment, surface finishing, assembly and other value-added processes.
- Estimate manufacturing cycle times, material consumption, process costs, labour and overheads.
- Analyse supplier quotations, benchmark pricing and evaluate cost competitiveness.
- Support RFQs, customer enquiries, techno-commercial proposals and quotation preparation.




- Evaluate make-or-buy decisions and identify alternative materials, processes and sourcing opportunities.
- Conduct should-cost analysis, value engineering and cost optimisation studies.
- Maintain costing databases, historical pricing records and supplier cost benchmarks.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

- 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing costing, estimation or engineering commercial operations.
- Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Energy, EV, Mobility or general engineering manufacturing is preferred.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, BOMs and material specifications.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, casting, forging and other manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of different engineering materials, material grades and their commercial implications.
- Ability to estimate material consumption, machining cycle times and manufacturing process costs.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.
