Role Description The Owner role at Sumo Digital Ltd in Bangalore Urban is a full time, on-site leadership position responsible for guiding the studio’s strategic direction and ensuring successful delivery of game development projects. This role involves overseeing business operations, setting performance goals, and aligning project portfolios with the company’s long-term vision and partner expectations. The Owner will collaborate closely with studio leadership, production, creative, and technical teams to support resource planning, budget management, and risk mitigation for multiple projects.

Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining key external partnerships, reviewing project milestones, resolving operational issues,



and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion. The role also requires mentoring senior leaders, driving continuous improvement in processes and tools, and representing the studio in stakeholder meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in senior leadership or ownership roles within game development, technology, or creative industries, with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Strong business and operational management skills, including strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with publishers, clients, and key stakeholders, with strong negotiation and relationship-management capabilities.
- Ability to oversee multidisciplinary teams (art, design, engineering, production) and coordinate cross-functional collaboration to meet quality and delivery standards.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with game development pipelines, live service models, and IP management practices is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership, employee development, and creating supportive workplace environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Game Development, or a related field; advanced degrees or equivalent experience are an advantage.
