We are looking for an accomplished legal professional to lead our Legal & Regulatory function in India and play a strategic role in strengthening our legal framework, regulatory governance and risk management practices.

Position: Head of Legal – India

Experience: 10+ Years

Industry: NBFC / Banking / Fintech / Financial Services

Location: Andheri East, Mumbai

Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO and HQ Head of Legal

Key Leadership Responsibilities

- Lead and establish the company's legal and regulatory framework in accordance with applicable RBI guidelines and NBFC regulations.
- Oversee legal compliance relating to digital lending, consumer protection, KYC/AML and data privacy.
- Lead drafting, reviewing and negotiation of commercial contracts, lending agreements, technology partnerships and intra-group arrangements.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on lending products, business operations, collections and regulatory matters.
- Oversee LSP agreements, outsourcing arrangements, customer documentation and data-processing agreements.
- Develop legal policies, internal controls and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Manage regulatory engagements, litigation, disputes,



investigations and external legal counsel.
- Support corporate governance, legal due diligence and business expansion initiatives.
- Build and lead an effective in-house legal team.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience in NBFCs, Banks, Small Finance Banks or Fintech organisations.
- Solid expertise in RBI regulations, NBFC compliance, digital lending and consumer lending frameworks.
- Proven experience in legal strategy, contract negotiations and regulatory engagements.
- Excellent understanding of KYC/AML, outsourcing guidelines and data protection requirements.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to independently establish and lead the legal function in a dynamic business environment.
