Role Overview
Responsible for system engineering support for High Voltage Junction Box functions within the Energy Platform. The role develops and maintains requirements, interfaces, diagnostics, validation support artefacts, and issue trackers for HV power distribution, protection, switching, sensing, and safety-related HVJB features.
Primary Focus Areas
HVJB requirements covering power distribution, contactors, fuses, current sensing, pre-charge interfaces, protection, and diagnostics.
Interfaces between battery, BMS, charger, DC-DC, inverter, EDU, thermal systems, vehicle control units, and HV harness architecture.
Support for HV safety concepts including isolation, interlock, discharge, fault handling, degraded operation, and service protection needs.
Traceability and validation support across supplier, rig, HiL, vehicle, and release readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse customer, vehicle, architecture, component, and safety inputs to develop and update HVJB system requirements.
Support definition of HVJB operating states, interface signals, protection logic, diagnostics, failure reactions, and verification acceptance criteria.
Prepare functional specifications, interface control documents, requirement traceability matrices, and validation support documentation.
Coordinate with BMS, battery, charging, inverter, EDU, thermal, software, functional safety, cybersecurity, validation, and supplier teams for issue closure.
Review network signals, diagnostics services, data logging requirements, measurement points, and validation coverage for HVJB functions.
Support MiL, SiL, HiL, rig, and vehicle validation by reviewing test cases, analysing defects, tracking actions, and confirming requirement coverage.
Maintain open issue trackers, change records, supplier query responses, and release support inputs for programme milestones.
Escalate requirement gaps, interface conflicts, validation risks, and supplier dependencies to technical leads and programme stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Good understanding of HV power distribution, HVJB architecture, contactor control, fuse coordination, pre-charge, HVIL, isolation, diagnostics, and EV integration.
Experience in requirements management, interface definition, functional specification writing, validation support, and supplier issue tracking.
Working knowledge of automotive networks, UDS diagnostics, electrical protection, safety mechanisms, and component validation processes.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and maintain structured engineering documentation under delivery timelines.
