Content is developed with attention to regional dynamics, current affairs, and civic awareness. The Debate values accuracy, transparency, and thoughtful analysis in its coverage, offering viewers diverse perspectives on political developments.
Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, processing payments, tracking expenses, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves assisting with financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, and coordinating with auditors when required. This is a full time, in office role based in Chennai,



working closely with management to provide timely financial insights that support decision-making for content production and overall operations.
Qualifications
Strong skills in general accounting, including ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
Ability to handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring.
Proficiency in financial reporting, basic budgeting, and preparation of management reports.
Experience using accounting software and office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing).
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in India.
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, operations, and leadership teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience in media, entertainment, or a quick-paced business environment is beneficial.
