The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. This role ensures smooth functioning of desktops, laptops, operating systems, printers, and other IT-related hardware/software. The engineer troubleshoots issues, maintains system performance, and assists in the installation and configuration of IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
Troubleshoot system errors and resolve user queries in a timely manner.
Manage user accounts, email setup, and access permissions.
Monitor and maintain system performance, updates, and security patches.
Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
Collaborate with IT team for escalated support issues.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Assist in IT asset inventory management.

Required Skills & Competencies:




Solid knowledge of Windows/Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and printers.
Basic understanding of antivirus, firewalls, and system security.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.

Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred).
Diploma/Certification in Hardware & Networking (CompTIA A+, N+, MCSE, CCNA preferred).
1–3 years of experience in IT support or desktop support role.
