Deputy Manager - Design (Mechanical & Electrical)

Key Responsibilities
Prepare mechanical design information for tenders and project execution
Understand customer technical requirements and prepare design solutions
Handle quotation and execution design activities
Develop and maintain departmental design metrics
Coordinate with internal teams and external customers for technical clarifications
Identify and implement design improvements and corrective actions
Mentor and guide junior design engineers
Support manufacturing and project teams during execution
Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards

Mandatory Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in Transformer Mechanical Design
Experience in Power/EHV Transformers
Hands-on exposure to transformer ratings from 100kVA to 250MVA / 220kV and above
Robust understanding of transformer mechanical components and design principles
Experience in Tender Design and Execution Design
Knowledge of BIL, VLN, and transformer-related calculations
Proficiency in AutoCAD / Creo / SolidWorks / CATIA or similar tools




Robust problem-solving and technical coordination skills

Preferred Skills
Experience in transformer manufacturing companies
Knowledge of IEC / IS standards
Team handling and mentoring experience
Exposure to process improvement and design optimization
Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems is an added advantage
Hindi speaking ability will be an added advantage
Strong communication skills in English and Tamil
