Our client is a global engineering company headquartered in Europe. It designs and builds large engines, turbomachinery and energy solutions for the marine, power and process industries worldwide.

You will join the Product Cost Management team within the client's Engineering Architecture & Services function, helping make its products more cost-competitive without compromising quality or function.

What you will do

You will find the lowest-cost way to deliver each part and project, recommending cheaper materials, methods and processes without sacrificing function.

- Develop and maintain part cost estimates, and prepare cost-down / cost-up calculations and unit cost reports
- Analyse product design data for conformance to design selection criteria, use of standardised parts and equipment, and design-to-cost ratio
- Approve initial designs or recommend modifications based on ease of manufacture, cost and component technology
- Coordinate testing of recent parts and equipment, evaluate results, and approve or reject their use
- Evaluate and approve vendor selection
- Initiate and provide technical direction for R&D; programmes that improve production methods and part technology and reduce cost




- Develop methods to predict, track and report production costs during design development
- Plan and coordinate activities to apply standardised design criteria and production requirements across the company's product lines
- Deliver assigned tasks to scope and on time, in line with company guidelines, standards, Code of Conduct and Health & Safety requirements

What you bring

Must-have

- 3 5 years in Value Engineering, cost engineering, production/manufacturing engineering or mechanical design
- Very good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and production technology
- Very good understanding of technical drawings and requirements
- Very good knowledge of GD&T;
- Sound knowledge of quality systems and quality guidelines
- Good knowledge of IC engines
- Basic knowledge of NX or Creo CAD
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- BE/BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent)

Good to have

- German language skills
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Risk assessment experience
