Metrology (Fixed CMM & Portable FARO CMM) - 1.1 Fixed CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Perform dimensional inspection of components as per drawing, GD&T; requirements, and control plans. Develop and validate CMM programs for new and existing parts. Ensure proper alignment, probing strategy, and measurement accuracy. Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and layout inspection. Maintain inspection records and generate reports (PPAP, ISIR, etc.). Ensure periodic verification and maintenance of CMM machine. Coordinate with QA/NPD for recent product development measurements. Analyze measurement data and support root cause analysis for dimensional issues. - 1.2 Portable FARO CMM (Arm / Laser Scanner) Perform on-site inspection for large/critical components where fixed CMM is not feasible. Conduct reverse engineering and 3D scanning activities. Support assembly verification, gap & flush measurement. Validate fixtures, jigs, and tools geometrically. Generate deviation reports and 3D comparison analysis. Ensure proper handling, storage, and calibration of FARO equipment. - 2. Equipment Calibration (Production Equipment)



Prepare and maintain Master Calibration Plan for all production equipment. Ensure calibration of machines such as torque tools, pressure gauges, temperature controllers, etc. Monitor calibration status and ensure all equipment is within validity period. Coordinate with external agencies for third-party calibration when required. Maintain calibration certificates and traceability to national/international standards. Identify out-of-calibration equipment and initiate corrective actions. Tagging and identification of calibration status (OK / Due / Rejected). Support audits (ISO, IATF, Customer) with calibration records. Evaluate impact of out-of-calibration equipment on product quality. - 3. Instrument Calibration (Measuring Instruments) Maintain calibration system for all inspection instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.). Ensure periodic calibration as per defined frequency. Perform internal calibration where applicable. Maintain calibration history cards and records. Control of master instruments and reference standards. Ensure proper storage and handling of instruments to avoid damage. Segregate and control non-calibrated / out-of-calibration instruments. Train operators on proper usage and care of measuring instruments.



Conduct MSA (Measurement System Analysis) such as Gauge R&R.; - 4. Metallurgy Lab - 4.1 Material Testing & Analysis Conduct chemical composition analysis (Spectrometer). Perform mechanical testing (Hardness, Tensile, Impact, etc.). Carry out microstructure analysis using metallurgical microscope. Perform case depth, grain size, and coating thickness evaluation. - 4.2 Failure Analysis - Investigate component failures using metallurgical techniques. Identify root cause (material defect, heat treatment, process issue, etc.). Provide technical reports with corrective/preventive recommendations. - 4.3 Process Validation & Control - Validate heat treatment processes (hardening, tempering, carburizing, etc.). Support NPD for material selection and validation. Monitor incoming raw material quality as per standards. - 4.4 Documentation & Compliance - Maintain test records, reports, and traceability. Ensure lab compliance with relevant standards (ISO / NABL if applicable). Maintain and calibrate lab equipment (UTM, hardness tester, microscope, etc.). Support internal and external audits. - 5. Common Responsibilities (Applicable to All Functions) - Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 requirements. Follow safety guidelines and maintain housekeeping (5S). Continuous improvement through Kaizen and process optimization. Cross-functional coordination with QA, Production, NPD, and Purchase. Maintain documentation as per QMS requirements. Ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
