7-8 years of experience in enterprise endpoint management with strong specialization in BigFix patch management and OS image deployment.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Patch Management

- Design, configure, and manage end-to-end patch management operations using HCL BigFix Patch.
- Develop and maintain custom Fixlets, Baselines, and Tasks for third-party and OS patch deployment.
- Define and enforce patch policies, patch windows, and exception management processes across enterprise endpoints.
- Monitor and maintain high patch compliance rates across Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Linux endpoints.
- Perform patch testing, staging, and controlled rollout across phased deployment rings.
- Troubleshoot failed patches, client-side installation errors, and relay-side distribution issues.
- Generate patch compliance reports and dashboards using BigFix WebUI, REST API, and SQL-based queries.
- Coordinate with security teams to address vulnerability findings and ensure timely remediation through BigFix.
- Manage Microsoft Patch Tuesday cycles, out-of-band patches, and zero-day emergency patching scenarios.

Image OS Deployment Management

- Design and manage OS deployment workflows using BigFix Lifecycle OSD (OS Deployment) module.
- Build, maintain, and version-control Windows 10/11 master images aligned with organizational standards.
- Configure and manage WinPE boot environments, task sequences, and deployment profiles within BigFix.
- Support bare-metal deployments, OS refresh, and OS migration scenarios at scale.
- Manage image capture, customization, and deployment through BigFix OSD profiles and multicast delivery.
- Troubleshoot image deployment failures, driver conflicts, and post-imaging configuration issues.





Infrastructure Client Management

- Manage BigFix Relay hierarchy, client health, and bandwidth optimization across distributed sites.
- Monitor BigFix Root Server and Relay performance, ensuring replication and content delivery health.
- Develop custom PowerShell, Batch, and BigFix Action Script automations to support patch and imaging workflows.
- Write BigFix Relevance expressions for endpoint targeting, custom inventory gathering, and compliance checks.
- Conduct regular BigFix infrastructure maintenance, cleanup, and version upgrade activities.
- Handle L2/L3 escalations for patch and imaging incidents, performing root cause analysis and resolution.
- Support 24/7 operations for critical patching events and Sev 1/2 incident response.

Secondary Platform Support

- Working knowledge of SCCM / Microsoft Intune for co-existence and hybrid patch management scenarios.
- Support integration between BigFix and SCCM/Intune where required for transition or co-managed environments.

Required Skills :

- HCL BigFix Patch Management — Fixlets, Baselines, Tasks, patch policies (expert level)
- HCL BigFix Lifecycle OSD — image creation, WinPE, task sequences, multicast deployment
- BigFix Relay management, client health monitoring, and relay hierarchy design
- BigFix Relevance Language (BRL) and Action Script authoring
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server image build, capture, and deployment
- PowerShell, Batch scripting for patch and imaging automation
- BigFix WebUI, REST API, and SQL-based custom reporting
- Microsoft Patch Tuesday cycle management and zero-day patching response
- Working knowledge of SCCM / Intune / MECM as secondary platforms
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows client/server and endpoint networking
- Positive communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills

Minimum Education

Graduation / Engineering degree
