About the Role

LG Soft India is seeking experienced Embedded Linux Software Engineers to develop next-generation HVAC Controllers and Building Management System (BMS) solutions. The role involves designing and developing Linux-based gateway and controller platforms, integrating industry-standard communication protocols, implementing secure connectivity, and enabling scalable building automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop embedded Linux applications for HVAC controllers and gateways

• Implement communication protocol stacks – Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet MS/TP & IP, RS-485, BACnet protocols
• Develop D-Bus APIs and IPC services for inter-process communication
• Configure and deploy Linux services using systemd, init scripts, and boot mechanisms
• Build and customize Yocto/OpenEmbedded environments for cross-platform ARM targets
• Integrate secure communication layers with TLS/certificates, AppArmor policies, and FOTA mechanisms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions

REQUIRED Skills

- System calls, multi-threading, IPC (D-Bus, sockets, signals), memory management,



and secure coding in C/C++ Linux applications

• Modbus RTU/TCP, RS-485 serial, Ethernet, and network socket programming for embedded communication
• Recipe development, bitbake, layer management, cross-compilation for ARM (Cortex-A9, Aarch64), and makefile customization in Yocto/OpenEmbedded build systems
• systemd services, init scripts, rootfs customization, and device file systems in embedded Linux environments
• RTOS concepts, process priorities, and synchronization mechanisms for real-time systems
• MQTT protocol, REST APIs, HTTPS/TLS, and device registration and pairing flows for cloud integration
• gdb, strace, ltrace, valgrind, protocol packet inspection, and performance profiling for debugging and analysis
• SQLite, XML (LibXML2), and YAML/JSON parsing and generation for data processing

PREFERRED Skills

- WiFi provisioning, mDNS/Zeroconf, IPv4/IPv6 configuration, and network management for network onboarding

• OpenSSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, secure FOTA, key management, and secure coding practices in cryptography and security
• MAC policy development, security audit, and compliance testing with AppArmor
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems, IoT, Energy management

Educational Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
