Position Title: Launch Project Manager (Commercial)
Location: Offshore
Position Overview & Role Background The Launch Project Manager plays a critical role in driving cross-functional pharmaceutical product launches across late-stage drug development, commercial readiness, and post-approval execution. Serving as the operational backbone for launch management, this position ensures strong execution discipline, operational rigor, and executive-level visibility.
The role partners closely with cross-functional leadership spanning Commercial, Market Access, Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Supply Chain/Operations, Finance, and IT/Digital. By converting raw operational inputs into standardized reporting formats, maintaining real-time digital dashboards, leveraging AI-powered productivity workflows, and managing budget variances, this role enables VP and Senior Director leadership to focus on strategic decisions, risk mitigation, and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Launch Execution & Workstream Governance
- Proactively engage with multi-disciplinary launch workstreams (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Manufacturing/Supply Chain) to collect routine status updates and track milestone progression.
- Maintain and continuously update integrated master launch plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and executive dashboards using Smartsheet and enterprise PMO toolsets.
- Consolidate disparate workstream data into standardized, executive-ready presentations, status reports, and briefing decks for Vice President and Senior Director review.
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and escalate cross-functional bottlenecks, interdependencies, and critical path risks before they impact launch timelines or regulatory milestones.
- Governance, Meeting Facilitation & Action Ownership
- Schedule, orchestrate, and facilitate complex, multi-calendar cross-functional launch meetings, steering committees, and interactive workshops.
- Co-own the creation of structured meeting agendas, executive pre-reads, and action-oriented meeting minutes.
- Drive disciplined follow-up on outstanding action items, ensuring clear accountability, issue resolution, and timely closure across all functional teams.
- Financial Management, Budgeting & Accruals Tracking
- Partner with Commercial Finance and budget owners to manage launch budgets, tracking planned vs. actual expenditures on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Oversee financial variance analysis, forecast updates, purchase order (PO) tracking, and quarter-end accruals management.
- Provide clear financial spend models, flagging budget variances and financial risks to senior leadership in advance of quarterly spend freezes.
- Smartsheet Architecture, AI-Driven Workflows & Process Optimization
- Build, customize, and maintain automated Smartsheet dashboards, multi-tiered project templates, automated notification alerts, and cross-sheet reports.
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., AI-assisted meeting summaries, predictive risk analysis, automated report generation, and natural language query tools) to streamline PMO operations, accelerate tracking, and enhance data clarity.
- Advanced utilization of Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, agile charts, Power Query) and PowerPoint to build robust data models and compelling executive presentations.
