We are hiring a hands-on Technical Manager who will be our technical head, chief architect and trusted technical advisor. You will own the architecture of a microservices-based, highly scalable portal, lead AI development and enablement across the product, and run a full stack Node.js engineering team on AWS.

This is a player-coach role: you set direction for the business, design the system, review code daily and step in to build when it matters.

Key responsibilities

Architecture and technical leadership

- Own the end-to-end architecture of a microservices-based portal built to scale to millions of users and high concurrency.
- Define service boundaries using domain-driven design, plus API standards (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and event-driven patterns (Kafka, SQS/SNS, EventBridge).
- Design for high availability, fault tolerance, horizontal scaling, caching, and multi-region disaster recovery.
- Lead architecture reviews, write Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and maintain the technical roadmap.
- Drive the migration of legacy monoliths to microservices where needed, with zero-downtime rollouts.
- Set performance budgets and SLOs, and own capacity planning and cost-to-serve.

AI development and enablement
- Lead the AI strategy: identify use cases, build proofs of concept and take AI features to production.
- Architect LLM-powered features using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, tool/function calling and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Work with leading model providers and platforms such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker.
- Build and govern vector search (pgvector, OpenSearch, Pinecone or similar), prompt management, evaluations and guardrails.
- Set up LLMOps/MLOps: model versioning, evaluation pipelines, observability, cost and latency monitoring.




- Enable the wider team to use AI coding assistants and agentic tools productively and safely.
- Ensure responsible AI practices: data privacy, PII handling, bias checks, and compliance with the DPDP Act and GDPR.

Engineering management
- Lead, hire, mentor and grow a cross-functional team; run 1:1s, career plans and performance reviews.
- Run Agile/Scrum delivery: sprint planning, estimation, release management and stakeholder reporting.
- Enforce engineering standards: code reviews, clean code, SOLID principles, test coverage and documentation.
- Translate business requirements into technical plans, timelines and resource estimates.
- Act as the technical advisor to leadership, clients and product teams on build-vs-buy, vendor and technology choices.
- Manage technical debt, risks and escalations, and own production incidents and post-mortems.

Cloud, DevOps and security
- Own the AWS architecture and the monthly cloud budget, following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Drive CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation) and GitOps practices.
- Run containerised workloads on Docker, Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS/Fargate, plus serverless on Lambda.
- Set up observability: logging, metrics, tracing and alerting (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Datadog or Current Relic).
- Embed DevSecOps: OWASP Top 10, IAM least privilege, secrets management,



vulnerability scanning and audits (ISO 27001 / SOC 2 readiness).

Mandatory technical skills

Backend- Node.js (expert), TypeScript, Express / NestJS / Fastify, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets

Microservices - Domain-driven design, API gateway, service mesh, saga and CQRS patterns, circuit breakers, idempotency, distributed tracing

Frontend - React.js and Next.js (SSR/SSG), state management, micro-frontends, responsive and accessible UI

Databases - PostgreSQL / MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis; schema design, indexing, sharding and query tuning

Messaging - Kafka / Amazon MSK, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, EventBridge

AWS - EC2, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Cognito, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Bedrock

AI / GenAI - LLM APIs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, embeddings and vector databases, LangChain / LlamaIndex or equivalent, MCP, evaluation and guardrails

DevOps - Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform / CDK, GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins, blue-green and canary deployments

Security - OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SSO, encryption at rest and in transit, OWASP Top 10, WAF

Quality - Unit, integration, contract and load testing (Jest, Playwright, k6 / JMeter), SonarQube, TDD

Experience and qualifications

- 12+ years in software development, with 6+ years in Node.js full stack development.
- 5+ years designing and running microservices in production on AWS at high scale.
- 4+ years managing engineering teams of 10 or more, including hiring and performance management.
- 2+ years building and shipping AI / GenAI features into live products.
- Proven delivery of at least one large-scale portal or SaaS platform from architecture to launch.
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science or a related field.
