The Mechanical Engineer - SWT (Surface Well Testing) Sustaining role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance, improvement, and optimization of existing product lines and systems. Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer in the SWT Sustaining team, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our Surface Well Testing products and systems. You will focus on sustaining engineering activities, including design modifications, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of existing equipment. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field operations to deliver innovative solutions and maintain product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sustaining Engineering:
- Support the improvement, redesign, and optimization of existing SWT products and systems to enhance performance, reliability, and safety.
- Address product lifecycle challenges, including obsolescence management, cost reduction, and supplier changes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve product failures and implement corrective actions.

- Design and Development:

- Modify and update 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Ensure designs meet industry standards,



SLB specifications, and customer requirements.

- Testing and Validation:

- Develop and execute test plans to validate design changes and ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
- Analyse test results and implement design improvements based on findings.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams to address production and operational challenges.
- Provide technical support to field operations and customers to ensure product performance in real-world applications.

- Documentation and Compliance:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documentation, including BOMs, technical drawings, and design specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) and internal quality guidelines.

- Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for cost reductions, process optimizations, and design standardization to improve product profitability and efficiency.
- Participate in Lean and Six Sigma projects to enhance manufacturing and operational performance.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, sustaining engineering, or product development (preferably in the oil and gas or energy industry).
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modelling and 2D drafting (e.g., Solid Works, Creo, AutoCAD).
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, and ISO.
- Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting product performance issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

Preferred:
- Experience with Surface Well Testing (SWT) equipment or oilfield services products.
- Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for structural and thermal.
