- Report Line: Patrick Winkler (Leader, IT/Digital – Global PLM)
- People Management Requirement: No
- Required Language skills: English (fluent)
- # of direct reports: No direct report; may guide project team members and external partners within the PPM application area
Purpose:
Own and evolve the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) application area within Global PLM – today Planisware Orchestra, HYPE (innovation management) and Requirements Management (ReqSuite) – the front end of the product lifecycle feeding the PLM/PDM backbone. As IT/Digital counterpart to the business, this role owns the how – solution, platform, integration and lifecycle – while product owners (e.g. R&D;) define the what and why; it actively drives the area. The role is defined by its capability, not by a single tool: it secures today’s platforms, integrates them into the PLM landscape and shapes their evolution in line with LIXIL’s Global PLM strategy and enterprise architecture.
Main role/ Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of the PPM application area (Planisware Orchestra, HYPE, Requirements Management) covering configuration, operation, lifecycle, including upgrades, end-of-life mitigation and compatibility with our Global PLM Transformation program
- Act as the accountable IT/Digital counterpart for the PPM area: establish and run the ownership model with business product owners (e.g. R&D;, portfolio management) – what/why vs. how – challenge and shape requirements, and drive solution decisions
- Define PPM system requirements based on business objectives, user needs and regulatory requirements, and design,
implement and optimize the resulting process and system changes
- Design and implement integrations between PPM platforms and adjacent enterprise systems, such as PLM/PDM, ERP and reporting/BI, to ensure end-to-end data consistency across the product lifecycle
- Build out Requirements Management as an integrated capability together with the Global PLM team, connecting requirements to the product development data thread
- Evaluate and recommend PPM and Requirements Management technologies and platforms; lead or contribute to tool evaluations, migrations and platform transitions
- Apply LIXIL architectural and data governance standards, guidelines and best practices to the PPM ecosystem and align solution designs with Enterprise Architecture and the Global PLM target architecture
- Manage vendors, licenses and total cost of ownership of the PPM landscape; collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure availability, scalability and security of the platforms
- Actively contribute to project planning, scoping and design activities; represent IT/Digital in business-facing discussions within the PPM area
- Ensure adherence to system standards, documentation and compliance requirements; mentor and support colleagues through structured guidance and knowledge sharing as the PPM capability grows
Job Requirements:
- Required/ Minimum Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related fields; Master’s Degree is a plus
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT applications, of which at least 3 years administering and configuring enterprise PPM platforms such as Planisware Orchestra, Planview, SAP PPM/EPPM, Broadcom Clarity or similar; Planisware strongly preferred
- Experience with Requirements Management platforms such as Polarion, Jama Connect, IBM DOORS Next, Codebeamer or similar, including requirements traceability into product development processes
- Other Requirements –
- Demonstrated ownership mindset: track record of driving an application area as accountable counterpart to business stakeholders, not as a service-request executor
- Solid understanding of product development and portfolio workflows (stage-gate, resource and capacity planning, roadmapping, innovation management)
- Experience designing and delivering integrations between PPM/RM platforms and adjacent enterprise systems (PLM/PDM, ERP, reporting/BI), including APIs and middleware
- Experience leading or executing platform upgrades, migrations or tool transitions in own responsibility
- Understanding of PLM concepts and the integrated product lifecycle data thread (idea to delivery)
- Experience working remotely with international, cross-functional stakeholders; ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical business users
- Strong problem-solving skills, structured working style and attention to detail
- Nice to have –
- Experience with innovation / idea management platforms such as HYPE, Brightidea or ITONICS
- Familiarity with SAP-centric landscapes (S/4HANA, SAP ECTR) and reporting / data platforms (e.g. Google BigQuery, Power BI)
- Experience in solution architecture or architectural design within a PLM or engineering IT workplace
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
