Job Summary / Overview

CMK Resources is hiring two Senior Cohesity Resident Engineers to join our Cohesity Residency team supporting a large global enterprise customer.

These consultants will provide hands-on engineering, architecture, troubleshooting, and operational support across complex Cohesity Data Protect environments, including physical clusters, Cloud Edition (CE), and Next-Generation Cloud Edition (NGCE).

The ideal candidates will have robust experience with Cohesity NGCE, AWS, enterprise backup and recovery, cloud migrations, replication, and ransomware recovery, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate directly with customer engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a technical liaison between Cohesity and the enterprise customer, providing day-to-day engineering and operational support.

- Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Cohesity Data Protect, physical clusters, CE, and NGCE environments.

- Review existing Cohesity infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, and protection policies; recommend and implement improvements.

- Support CE-to-NGCE migrations, including cluster configuration, workload onboarding, and recovery validation.

- Configure and optimize AWS-based Cohesity environments, including protection of Amazon RDS and other hosted databases.

- Design and implement cross-region and cross-site Cohesity replication for disaster recovery.





- Review and improve ransomware recovery strategies across on-premises and public cloud environments.

- Participate in ransomware recovery tabletop exercises, DR testing, and recovery validation.

- Evaluate high availability, resiliency, and fault tolerance to ensure backup and recovery continuity.

- Develop operational runbooks, architecture documentation, and best-practice recommendations.

- Improve backup automation and explore native Cohesity AI capabilities for AI-assisted backup and recovery operations.

- Collaborate with customer infrastructure, cloud, database, security, and application teams.

Required Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience with Cohesity Data Protect in large enterprise environments.

- Experience deploying, configuring, administering, or migrating Cohesity Cloud Edition (CE) and NGCE environments.

- Strong AWS cloud infrastructure knowledge, including networking, storage, permissions, and cloud-native workload protection.

- Experience with Cohesity cluster administration, upgrades, troubleshooting, replication, and performance optimization.

- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery architecture, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience.

- Experience configuring protection groups, retention policies, backup schedules,



and recovery workflows.

- Experience supporting cloud-hosted databases, ideally Amazon RDS.

- Strong knowledge of VMware, Windows, Linux, and enterprise infrastructure.

- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex backup, replication, restore, and infrastructure issues.

- Strong customer-facing communication, documentation, and technical consulting skills.

Nice to Haves

- Hands-on experience leading CE-to-NGCE migrations.

- Cohesity cloud protection services and AWS database protection experience.

- Cohesity Fort Knox, Data Hawk, or ransomware recovery capabilities.

- Cross-region replication and multi-site disaster recovery architecture.

- Power Shell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, or API-based automation.

- Experience with resilience testing, disaster recovery simulations, and ransomware tabletop exercises.

- Exposure to Cohesity AI capabilities and AI-agent-based infrastructure operations.

- Previous Cohesity Professional Services or Resident Engineer experience.

- Cohesity certifications.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for experienced Cohesity engineers who can take ownership of complex enterprise data protection environments, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver hands-on solutions.

Candidates should be comfortable working directly with customer stakeholders, leading technical discussions, implementing changes, and supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
