Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Quality
Quality inspection and approval of tea leaves/tea grades, flavors, herbs and other ingredients.
Establish specifications and sampling plans for incoming materials.
Supplier quality evaluation and COA verification.
Monitor supplier non-conformities and CAPA.
Tea Quality & Sensory Evaluation
Evaluate tea for appearance, color, aroma, liquor, taste, strength and consistency.
Conduct tea tasting/cupping and blend evaluation.
Maintain product-wise quality specifications.
Monitor batch-to-batch consistency.
Process Quality Control
Monitor quality parameters during blending, processing and packing.
Ensure compliance with approved SOPs and process specifications.
Monitor packing weight, sealing, coding, labelling and packaging quality.
Release finished goods only after satisfactory quality verification.
Laboratory Management
Manage QC laboratory and QC team.
Chemical and physical testing including moisture, ash, TDS and other applicable parameters.
Coordinate microbiological and external laboratory testing.
Calibration and verification of laboratory instruments.
Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, GHP, HACCP, ISO 22000/BRCGS and customer requirements.




Maintain food safety and quality documentation.
Participate in food safety risk assessment, CCP/OPRP monitoring and verification.
Support USFDA/export compliance where applicable.
BRC/ISO Audit
Prepare and maintain documentation for BRCGS and ISO audits.
Conduct internal audits.
Coordinate customer, certification and regulatory audits.
Ensure timely closure of audit NCs and observations.
CAPA & Customer Complaints
Investigate quality complaints and deviations.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Prepare and implement CAPA.
Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions.
Hygiene & GMP
Monitor factory hygiene, employee hygiene and sanitation.
Conduct GMP/GHP inspections.
Monitor pest control, cleaning and sanitation activities.
Conduct hygiene training for workers and staff.
Team Management
Lead QC Chemists, QA Executives, Microbiologists and laboratory staff.
Prepare training plans.
Set KRAs/KPIs for the QA/QC team.
Ensure proper shift-wise quality monitoring.
Management Reporting
Prepare monthly quality reports.
Track customer complaints, rejections, rework, wastage, and NCs.
Report quality trends and improvement actions to management.
