Job Description

Vidya Lokam is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist in managing overall kitchen operations, supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth à la carte service at our vintage-style restaurant.

The ideal candidate should have strong culinary skills, leadership ability and experience coordinating kitchen operations in a hotel or restaurant.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff across sections.
Oversee food preparation, mise en place and service readiness.
Handle à la carte orders and ensure timely service.
Maintain consistent taste, quality, portion sizes and presentation.
Monitor inventory, stock levels,



food costs and wastage.
Ensure proper kitchen hygiene, food safety and storage.
Coordinate with the service team to resolve order delays and customer concerns.
Train junior kitchen staff and maintain discipline.
Assist with menu planning, recipe standardisation and signature dish development.
Support kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef with supervisory responsibilities.
Solid knowledge of Kerala and South Indian cuisine; broader multi-cuisine experience is an advantage.
Ability to supervise staff and coordinate multiple kitchen sect

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
