Job Summary
The Robot Teaching Engineer is responsible for programming, teaching, testing, and optimizing industrial robots used in automation projects. The role involves configuring robot paths, ensuring smooth communication between robots and PLC systems, troubleshooting operational issues, and supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites.
This role is critical in delivering high-quality robotic automation solutions in manufacturing environments such as automotive, engineering, and industrial production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform robot teaching and programming for industrial robots based on project requirements.
- Develop and modify robot paths, motion sequences, and logic for optimized cycle time.
- Conduct online and offline programming of robotic systems.
- Integrate robots with PLC systems, sensors, vision systems, and peripheral devices.
- Support robot-to-PLC communication setup and troubleshooting.
- Test robotic applications for functionality, safety, and efficiency.
- Participate in installation, commissioning, and production trials at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve robot faults, calibration errors, and programming issues.
- Ensure compliance with customer standards and industrial safety protocols.
- Prepare technical documentation, backups,
and operational manuals.
- Provide technical training and support to operators and maintenance teams.
- Coordinate with design, controls, and project teams for smooth project execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial robot teaching and programming.
- Familiarity with major robot brands such as ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, or similar.
- Understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate systems, and motion control.
- Knowledge of PLC integration and industrial communication protocols.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills in robotic automation environments.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and process flow diagrams.
- Willingness to travel for project execution and customer support.
- Robust problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Automation Engineering.
Experience Required
- 2 to 6 years of experience in robot teaching, robotic programming, or industrial automation projects.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing automation preferred.
Preferred Attributes
- Exposure to robotic welding, material handling, assembly, or inspection applications.
- Experience in commissioning at client sites.
- Knowledge of safety standards in robotics and automation.
Work Location
- Based in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar or Pune with travel to customer sites as required.
