Roles & Responsibilities

1. Implement and monitor electrical safety procedures, policies, and standards across the project site.
2. Monitor electrical installation activities involving HT/LT panels, transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, cables, and switchyards.
3. Ensure proper implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical isolation, and permit-to-work (PTW) procedures.
4. Conduct electrical risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting electrical activities.
5. Ensure proper earthing, grounding, electrical insulation, and protection systems.
6. Inspect electrical equipment, temporary electrical installations, distribution boards, cables, and electrical tools.
7. Monitor high-voltage and low-voltage electrical activities and ensure secure working practices.
8. Ensure proper implementation of safety measures during electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
9. Verify electrical protection systems, circuit breakers, relays, safety interlocks,



and emergency shutdown arrangements.
10. Identify electrical hazards such as electric shock, arc flash, short circuits, overloading, and electrical fires.
11. Ensure proper barricading, warning signage, and restricted access around electrical installations and energized equipment.
12. Conduct regular electrical safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
13. Ensure electrical workers and technicians are trained, competent, and authorized to perform electrical work.
14. Investigate electrical incidents, near misses, and equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
15. Coordinate with electrical engineers, project managers, contractors, and client safety representatives.
16. Maintain electrical inspection reports, LOTO records, PTW documentation, and electrical safety compliance records.
